Primele imagini cu segmentele tablierului care vor forma calea de rulare a Podului suspendat peste Dunăre dintre Brăila și Tulcea au apărut în spaţiul public, într-o postare pe contul de Facebook destinat acestui obiectiv major, care reprezintă cea mai mare lucrare de infrastructură din România din ultimii 30 de ani. Podul suspendat peste Dunăre va avea o lungime de 1.974 metri, dintre care 1.120 metri reprezintă deschiderea centrală, la care se adaugă două deschideri laterale de 489 metri pe malul dinspre Brăila şi 364 metri pe malul dinspre Tulcea. 

În imagini se vede cum patru macarale cară în tandem un astfel de segment de pod, operaţiunea reprezentând mutarea unor module din Şantierul Naval Brăila, unde se construiesc, în Şantierul Naval Galaţi, având în vedere că la Brăila nu mai există spaţiu pentru depozitarea lor.

„Segmentele tablierului se construiesc în Şantierul Naval Brăila. Mare parte din segmentele tablierului se află depozitate în Şantierul Naval Brăila, dar pentru că nu au mai avut spaţiu de depozitare au fost duse şi într-o altă locaţie, respectiv pe Şantierul Naval Galaţi. Lungimea unui segment de tablier este de 25 metri, fiecare având o greutatea de 250 de tone. În total vor fi 80 de segmente, care vor fi sudate între ele şi vor forma calea de rulare a podului. În ceea ce priveşte stadiul lucrărilor, pilonii au fost finalizaţi, iar acum se montează grinzile de rigidizare. În blocurile de ancoraj, lucrările sunt la fel foarte avansate, sperăm noi ca, din martie, să înceapă efectiv lansarea cablurilor. Ridicarea segmentelor de tablier se va face după ce vor fi lansate cablurile de susţinere”, a declarat, pentru AGERPRES, inginer Viorel Eşanu, responsabil cu monitorizarea lucrărilor podului,

Potrivit acestuia, turnurile de susţinere a celor două cabluri, construite pe cele două maluri ale Dunării, în judeţele Brăila şi Tulcea, sunt deja gata şi au o înălţime de 192 metri, fiind cele mai înalte construcţii din România.

În organizarile de șantier, pe ambele maluri se efectuează lucrări de amplasare a instalațiilor care urmează să fie folosite la operațiunile de lansare a cablurilor principale.
Pe malul Brăila:
– se lucrează la armarea camerelor de tragere aferente blocului de ancoraj;
– se lucrează la armarea plăcii de acoperiere a blocului de ancoraj;
– s-au finalizat operațiunile de ridicare a grinzilor de rigidizare (antretoaze);
– se finalizează sudura grinzilor de rigidizare;
– se lucrează la armare și cofrare radier pilă și culee.
Pe malul Jijila:
– se lucrează la armarea camerelor de tragere aferente blocului de ancoraj;
– se lucrează la armarea și cofrarea elevațiilor pentru pilă și culee;
– se efectueză lucrări premergătoare ridicării grinzilor de rigidizare (operațiunile fiind prevăzute să înceapă spre sfârșitul acestei saptramanii în funcție de condițiile meteo).
