Florin Cîțu a declarat, joi seară, că singurele țări din UE care ofereau gratuitate de 100% pentru transportul studenților erau România și Luxemburg – țară cu care nu ne putem compara. Spunând că ”nu există nimic gratuit pe lumea asta”, Premierul a explicat că principiile care stau la baza programului de guvernare sunt liberale, iar analiza subvențiilor se face prin două filte: costul de oportunitate și impactul în economie. 

”Vorbim de o subvenţie. Aş reveni la ceva ce am mai spus, eu vreau să reaşez economia pe principii liberale. Vrem să creăm motivaţii ca oamenii să investească, oamenii să îşi dorească un loc de muncă, vrem ca oamenii să fie mai performanţi. În acelaşi timp, vreau să spun un lucru, nu există nimic gratuit pe lumea asta. Atunci, fiecare subvenţie care pleacă de la buget eu o analizez prin două filtre: costul de oportunitate, dacă există altceva pe care l-aş putea face mai profitabil şi vorbim de orice subvenţie de la buget, şi impactul acelei subvenţii, pentru că sunt şi subvenţii pe care le dăm şi au un impact pozitiv în economie. Eu am luat o decizie în ceea ce priveşte această măsură de a subvenţiona doar 50% din biletul de tren (…) Eu spun că subvenţionăm de la buget 50% din biletul de tren pentru studenţii până la 26 de ani”, a declarat Cîțu la un post TV. 

Precizând că doar Luxemburgul mai acordă gratuitate la transport, țară cu care nu ne putem compara, Premierul a precizat că trebuie să se țină cont în luarea unor astfel de decizii și de situația economică. Subvențiile reprezintă bani din taxele cetățenilor și costuri în plus pentru o companie care nu este pe profit. 

”M-am uitat ce se întâmplă în Uniunea Europeană şi nu există în nicio ţară, era doar Luxemburg – nu putem să ne comparăm cu Luxemburg – România era singura ţară unde exista această gratuitate, acest 100%. Ne-am uitat la impactul negativ pe care l-a avut pentru industrie, pentru că a însemnat costuri mai mari pentru industrie. Dintr-odată aveai nevoie de mai multe vagoane, aveai nevoie de costuri de mentenanţă mai multe, poate să angajezi mai mulţi oameni. Deci, repet, nu există nimic gratuit. Nu numai faptul că subvenţia înseamnă că luăm banii din taxele cetăţenilor şi îi alocăm aici, în loc să îi alocăm în altă parte, dar am creat şi costuri în plus pentru o companie care nu este pe profit şi acea companie ne-a cerut mai mulţi bani să îi subvenţionăm după aceea costuri mai mari”, a mai spus Cîțu.
