Monedele de 1 şi 2 eurocenţi ar putea fi eliminate progresiv de pe piață

Comisia Europeană a demarat luni, pentru o perioadă de 15 săptămâni, o procedură de consultare publică cu privire la utilizarea micilor monede de 1 şi 2 eurocenţi, în vederea unei eventuale propuneri legislative, care ar putea duce la eliminarea progresivă a acestor monede, informează un comunicat de presă al Executivului comunitar, citat de agerpres.

În timpul celor 15 săptămâni de consultare, atât simpli cetăţeni, cât şi instituţiile interesate sunt invitate să îşi exprime punctul de vedere şi sugestiile cu privire la acest subiect. Ulterior, Executivul comunitar va realiza o analiză şi un studiu de impact cu privire la utilizarea acestor mici monede, ţinând cont printre altele de punctele de vedere strânse. Pe această bază, Comisia „va decide, la finele lui 2021, dacă se impune o propunere legislativă cu privire la introducerea unor reguli uniforme pentru plăţile cu numerar în zona euro şi cu privire la o posibilă eliminare a monedelor de 1 şi 2 eurocenţi”.

În cadrul procedurii de evaluare, Comisia va analiza cu atenţie impactul economic, social şi cel asupra mediului al introducerii unor reguli uniforme. Orice viitoare propuneri cu privire la acest subiect vor fi bazate pe rezultatul evaluării.

Potrivit analiştilor, monedele de 1 şi 2 eurocenţi costă foarte mult pentru a fi fabricate şi deseori ajung în portofelele cetăţenilor fără a fi utilizate.
