Uniunea Europeană vede un scenariu post-Brexit și fără acord

Uniunea Europeană şi Marea Britanie trebuie să accelereze negocierile pe tema viitoarelor relaţii bilaterale, dar încheierea tranziţiei post-Brexit fără niciun acord nu este exclusă, a avertizat, luni seară, Valdis Dombrovskis, vicepreşedinte al Comisiei Europene, transmite realitatea.net

„Există multe probleme importante. Progresele în cazul a numeroase cerinţe ale UE sunt deocamdată insuficiente. Deci, trebuie să intensificăm substanţial negocierile dacă vrem să ajungem la un rezultat de succes”, a declarat Valdis Dombrovskis într-o conferinţă de presă organizată după o reuniune a miniştrilor europeni ai Comerţului.
 
„Alternativa la un Brexit fără acord nu este plăcută, dar nu o putem exclude”, a atras atenţia vicepreşedintele Comisiei Europene, citat de agenţia Reuters.
 
Marea Britanie s-a retras din Uniunea Europeană pe 1 februarie. În perioada de tranziţie post-Brexit, care durează până pe 31 decembrie 2020, Marea Britanie va continua să aplice reglementările Uniunii Europene. Premierul Boris Johnson speră că va finaliza până pe 31 decembrie 2020 negocierile privind viitoarele relaţii bilaterale. Liderii UE i-au transmis în mod repetat că timpul este foarte scurt. Bruxellesul a avertizat Guvernul de la Londra că va trebui să respecte standardele sociale, de muncă şi de protecţie a mediului pentru a obţine un acord de liber-schimb cu Uniunea Europeană.
