Directorul general al ANPC, Paul Anghel, afirmă că nu există dovezi potrivit cărora virusul Sars-Cov-2 s-ar transmite prin consumul de alimente, iar rezultatele preliminare ale studiului prezentat de Universitatea din Bucureşti contrazic declaraţiile Organizaţiei Mondiale a Sănătăţii (OMS) şi ale Autorităţii Europene pentru Siguranţa Alimentară (EFSA).

„Având în vedere ultimele ştiri apărute în presă, despre cum se poate transmite virusul Sars-Cov-2 prin alimente şi în special prin pâine, consider că este de datoria mea, în calitate de director general al ANPC, să atrag atenţia supra efectelor acestui tip de ştiri asupra încrederii consumatorilor în anumite produse (de bază) şi asupra industriei de profil. Rezultatele făcute publice de Universitatea Bucureşti se contrazic oarecum cu declaraţiile Organizaţiei Mondiale a Sănătăţii (OMS) şi ale Autorităţii Europene pentru Siguranţa Alimentară (EFSA) potrivit cărora nu există dovezi că virusul SARS-Cov-2 s-ar transmite prin consumul de alimente”, a precizat pentru agerpres Paul Anghel.

Potrivit sursei citate, coronavirusurile nu se multiplică în alimente, ele au nevoie de o gazdă-animal sau de una umană pentru a se multiplica. Deşi studiile recente arată că virusul persistă până la 24 de ore pe carton şi până la câteva zile pe suprafeţe dure (oţel, plastic), nu există nici o dovadă că ambalajele contaminate transmit infecţia. „Nu există nicio dovadă privind prezenţa în alimente a virusului, supravieţuirea acestuia în aliment şi riscul de infectare a oamenilor. Aceasta este poziţia oficială a autorităţilor internaţionale amintite, care a rămas neschimbată de la începutul pandemiei până în prezent”, menţionează Paul Anghel. El subliniază că studiul realizat de Universitatea din Bucureşti privind riscurile de transmitere a virusului este doar unul preliminar.

Directorul general al ANPC afirmă că regulile de igienă la cumpărături rămân aceleaşi şi face din nou apel pentru respectarea lor, respectiv purtarea măştilor în magazine, dezinfectarea frecventă a mâinilor cu soluţiile pe care toate magazinele le pun la dispoziţie, atingerea exclusivă a produselor care sunt puse în coş.

„Responsabilitatea în comportament şi în comunicare şi informarea doar din surse sigure, precum paginile oficiale ale autorităţilor, acesta este apelul meu către consumatori, presă şi instituţii”, precizează Anghel.

El a subliniat că va solicita o opinie oficială asupra acestui subiect din partea Grupului de Comunicare Strategică, în opinia sa „singura entitate în măsura să prezinte un punct de vedere consolidat”.
