Educația financiară, „un maraton care trebuie continuat de mai multe generații“

Declarația a fost făcută de Sergiu Oprescu, președintele Consiliului de Administrație al Asociației Române a Băncilor în cadrul conferinței online care a avut loc recent, „Educație financiară pentru copii și tineri în Europa de Sud-Est”. Obiectivul evenimentului l-a constituit identificarea metodelor noi de a adaptare a programelor de educație financiară la noile cerințe ale educației online.

Potrivit unui comunicat al Băncii Naționale a României, „Evenimentul a fost organizat în cadrul proiectului de asistență tehnică derulat de OECD (n.r. Organizația pentru Cooperare Economică și Dezvoltare) și International Network on Financial Education – INFE (n.r. Rețeaua Internațională pentru Educație Financiară). Conferința a reunit factori de decizie din Bulgaria, Croația, Georgia, Moldova, Muntenegru, Republica Macedonia de Nord și România, printre care: André Laboul, președinte al INFE și consilier principal pentru afaceri financiar la OCDE; Leonardo Badea, viceguvernator, Banca Națională a României; Jean Badea, subsecretar de stat la Ministerul Educației și Cercetării (MEC), România; Daniel Armeanu, vicepreședinte, Autoritatea de Supraveghere Financiară (ASF), România; Sergiu Oprescu, președinte, consiliul de administrație, Asociația Română a Băncilor (ARB); Flore-Anne Messy, șef asigurări, pensii private și piețe financiare, OECD; Valentin Lazea, economist șef, Banca Națională a României; Olaf Simonse, șef al Platformei Money Wise, Ministerul Finanțelor din Olanda Reprezentanții BNR alături de cei ai Ministerului Educației și Cercetării, Ministerului Finanțelor Publice, Autorității de Supraveghere Financiară, Asociației Române a Băncilor, precum și de experți în educația financiară din regiune și alte țări OECD au participat timp de două zile la prezentări și dezbateri interactive privind experiențele de bună practică, realizările și provocările în îmbunătățirea educației și incluziunii financiare. Un punct important a fost identificarea unor metode eficiente de adaptare a canalelor de transmitere a cunoștințelor de educație financiară către publicul țintă în contextul pandemiei COVID-19. Participanții au formulat recomandări privind dezvoltarea de politici pentru susținerea educației și rezilienței financiare a tinerilor din regiune.“

Michel Heijdra, director în cadrul Ministerului de Finanțe al Olandei a menționat  că „Realitatea de astăzi a pandemiei de COVID 19 a mutat educația financiară pe primul loc în agenda publică din multe țări. Un factor cheie în succesul financiar este să utilizăm banii eficient și să gândim în perspectivă. Cu cât copii vor fi învățați să aibă aceste deprinderi de la vârste fragede, putem pune o fundație pentru viitoarea reziliență financiară“.

Leonardo Badea, viceguvernator al Băncii Naționale a României a reamintit că „inovația și alte procese complexe pun o presiune uriașă pe educație. Mințile tinere duc învățarea la un cu totul alt nivel, la care uneori este greu să ajungă profesorii sau factorii de decizie. Trebuie să învățăm despre învățare, să ținem pasul cu nevoile tinerei generații. Simplitatea, aspectul practic, interactivitatea – sunt doar câteva dintre virtuțile educației de astăzi“.

Sergiu Oprescu, președintele Consiliului de Administrație al Asociației Române a Băncilor a punctat faptul că „Un obiectiv important este creșterea nivelului de educație financiară. Educația financiară este, practic, materialul pe care brodăm valorile europene în toate țările. Dar educația financiară nu este un sprint, este un maraton care trebuie continuat de către mai multe generații. Acest copac nu va face fructe rapid fructe, mai ales dacă ne ocupăm de el o dată la 4 ani. Acesta trebuie să fie un efort al întregii societăți.“
