Noul Centru European pentru Securitate Cibernetică va fi la București

România va găzdui la București Centrul european de competențe industriale, tehnologice și de cercetare în domeniul securității cibernetice. Bucureștiul a fost ales în urma unui vot, dintr-o listă de șapte orașe pe care se mai aflau Bruxelles, Munchen, Varșovia, Vilnius, Luxemburg și orașul spaniol Leon. În finală au intrat Capitala României și cea a Belgiei. Bucureștiul a câștigat cu 15 voturi la 12.

 Procedura de selecție pentru stabilirea sediului viitorului Centru Cyber a fost organizată, la 9 decembrie a.c., la Bruxelles, și finalizată în această dimineață (ora României). În urma votului statelor membre, s-a stabilit ca Centrul să fie localizat la București. 

Statele membre au decis inițierea unei competiții deschise pentru stabilirea sediului acestui Centru, procedura de selecție fiind agreată de către toate statele membre. Conform acestei proceduri, statele interesate au depus, până la 6 noiembrie a.c., dosarele de candidatură. Astfel, s-au înscris în competiția pentru găzduirea Centrului Belgia (Bruxelles), Germania (Munchen), Lituania (Vilnius), Luxemburg (Luxemburg), Polonia (Varșovia), Spania (Leon) și România (București). Dosarele de candidatură au fost analizate ulterior de către Comisia Europeană care a publicat, la 2 decembrie a.c., evaluarea sa cu privire la candidaturile depuse.

Ministerul Afacerilor Externe salută cu deosebită satisfacție decizia luată de statele membre UE privind localizarea la București a sediului viitorului Centru european de competențe industriale, tehnologice și de cercetare în domeniul securității cibernetice (Centrul Cyber al UE), urmare procedurii de vot desfășurate în data de 9 decembrie a.c., la Bruxelles, și finalizate în această dimineață. 

Pentru România, decizia are o valoare istorică, dat fiind că Centrul european de competențe în domeniul securității cibernetice reprezintă prima structură a UE pe care țara noastră o găzduiește în calitate de stat membru.

Succesul României este cu atât mai relevant în contextul unei competiții puternice între mai multe state membre, orașul câștigător fiind ales pe baza analizei dosarelor prezentate de statele candidate, realizate inclusiv de către  Comisia Europeană.

Prin decizia de plasare la București a Centrului european de competențe în domeniul securității cibernetice sunt recunoscute angajamentul ferm al României pentru consolidarea proiectului european și expertiza deosebită pe care țara noastră o deține în domeniul digital și al securității cibernetice. 

Totodată, rezultatul obținut de România a fost posibil în urma unor demersuri diplomatice intense în ultima perioadă derulate atât la București și Bruxelles, cât și în capitalele statelor membre. Prim-ministrul României Ludovic Orban a ridicat acest subiect în cadrul consultărilor și discuțiilor avute cu unii dintre omologii săi. În același timp, ministrul afacerilor externe Bogdan Aurescu și secretarul de stat pentru afaceri europene din cadrul MAE Iulia Matei au derulat demersuri constante și discuții telefonice cu omologii europeni. Eforturi susținute de promovare a candidaturii României au fost realizate, de asemenea, de Reprezentanța Permanentă a României la Bruxelles UE. Au fost astfel sprijinite demersurile realizate la nivelul Ministerului Transporturilor, Infrastructurii și Comunicațiilor.

”România aduce o certă valoare adăugată la dezvoltarea securității cibernetice în Europa și pe plan internațional, iar încrederea acordată astăzi de statele membre reconfirmă această contribuție. Sunt convins că decizia de stabilire a Centrului Cyber la București, prima structură și UE de pe teritoriul României, va contribui la promovarea unei abordări cuprinzătoare și incluzive în cadrul Uniunii în acest domeniu, la consolidarea securității Pieței Unice Digitale și la îndeplinirea obiectivelor UE în era digitală.”, a declarat cu acest prilej ministrul afacerilor externe Bogdan Aurescu.
